Edward D. Viner, MD

Edward D. Viner, MD served as Cooper University Hospital’s Chief of Medicine from 1987 through 2006. Currently, Dr. Viner is Cooper's Chief Emeritus of the Department of Medicine, in addition to serving as the Senior Advisor to the dean of the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. 

Dr. Viner graduated with honors from both Harvard College and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology, and has been named to national lists of Best Doctors. In 2003, he was named Laureate by the American College of Physicians, and in 2008, was elected to Mastership in the College.

Dr. Viner has been recurrently recognized for his teaching skills and will be increasingly involved in teaching and faculty development at the new Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.
