The Coriell Quality Assurance and Safety Department is proud to offer an internship opportunity for current or recently graduated undergraduate students interested in quality assurance, laboratory safety, and regulated laboratory operations.
Intern(s) will spend time with the quality/safety staff and receive individualized direction from experienced mentors. This experience is designed to enhance academic credentials and provide exposure to careers in quality assurance, biosafety, and regulated life science environments.

Internship Focus:
- Chemical and laboratory safety
- Quality documentation and compliance
- Support of routine production and biobanking activities
- Working within cross-functional teams
Responsibilities:
- Achieve a general understanding of production workflows, and quality and safety
objectives - Under direct supervision, support routine QA and safety activities in a production
laboratory setting - Assist with chemical safety programs, including chemical inventory review, Safety
Data Sheet management, and safe storage practices - Assist in reviewing, organizing and maintaining quality documentation
- Assist with routine laboratory inspections and audits related to safety and quality
standards - Participate in biweekly management review meetings to observe how leadership
reviews operational performance
Desired Majors:
Undergraduate students pursuing a degree in one of the following disciplines:
- Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or related Life Sciences
- Environmental Health; Safety, Public Health, or similar fields
Requirements:
- Must be actively enrolled, or recently graduated (May 2025 – Present), from an institute of higher education, in one of the majors listed above, or similar disciplines,
- Must be a NJ resident or attend a NJ college/university
- Must be able to remain employed for a 10 week tenure, 15-20 hours per week.
- Must have reliable transportation to Camden, NJ, where Coriell is located.
