Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells

07/2014

To facilitate research on differentiated cell types and other biomedical investigations, the NIGMS Repository offers human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines derived from apparently healthy individuals or from individuals affected with heritable diseases. These iPSC lines were created using a variety of reprogramming techniques and submitted to the NIGMS Repository, where a distribution stock was made. In addition to several quality control tests (viability, lack of contamination, karyotyping, genome-wide microarray genotyping, and microsatellite matches with the parent cell culture), extensive pluripotency characterizations are performed on each NIGMS Repository hiPSC line.
