Mission and Organization

The Allen Institute for Cell Science is dedicated to understanding and predicting behavior of cells during normal, regenerative, and pathological states by live imaging of fluorescently-tagged human induced pluripotent stem cells and generating tools and multi-scale visual models of cell organization to encourage experimental observation, theory and prediction. The Allen Cell Collection at the Coriell Institute supports this mission through world-wide distribution of this continually growing collection of high quality-certified fluorescently-tagged hiPSC lines to academic researchers and commercial entities.
