| Remarks |
Line HIVS-121T. The iliac vein was removed from a braindead, heartbeating cadaver, organ donor on 8/30/89. The donor died from a gun shot wound and had no known diseases. The culture was initiated by explantation of tissue dissected fromthe subendothelial layer. The culture tested positive for alpha-smooth muscle actin (immunofluorescence assay). The culture was grown on gelatin-coated flasks and the medium was supplemented with 0.02 mg/ml ECGS and 0.05 mg/ml heparin. Cells were frozen in growth medium containing 7.5% polyvinylpyrrolidinone and 5% DMSO. |
