| Remarks |
Beagle breed. The thoracic aorta was removed post-mortem on 5/1/85. Strips of the medial layer of the vessel were removed, minced, and used as explants to initiate the culture. Cell morphology is fibroblast-like. The culture tested positive for alpha-smooth muscle actin and negative for the endothelial cell-specific von Willebrand factor (immunofluorescence assays). Other cultures from this dog are AG08151 and AG08152. Culture grows slowly. |
