Subcollection Alzheimer's Disease
Biopsy Source Peripheral vein
Cell Type B-Lymphocyte
Tissue Type Blood
Transformant Epstein-Barr Virus
Sample Source LCL from B-Lymphocyte
Race White
Family Member 1
Relation to Proband maternal first cousin
Confirmation Clinical summary/Case history
ISCN 46,XX
Species Homo sapiens
Common Name Human
Remarks The donor was an unaffected at-risk member of an Alzheimer's disease family. Mother and seven sibs were affected. Autopsy records confirm no signs of the disease. The culture was initiated on 11/27/85 by transformation of lymphocytes with Epstein Barr virus. The cells grow in suspension and their morphology is spherical. Culture grows slowly. Donor's affected maternal first cousin is AG11367.
