In Depth DNA Discovery

cytogeneticsThe Coriell Institute Cytogenetics Laboratory is a state-of- the-art facility performing conventional and molecular cytogenetic analyses on various cell types from a range of species (human, mouse, rat, chimpanzee, canine, etc). The laboratory is equipped with a network of CytoVision Image Analysis and Capturing Systems used to perform G-banded karyotyping.

Detailed analyses of genome-wide unbalanced chromosomal aberrations, such as copy number variations (CNVs) and loss of heterozygosity (LOH) or long contiguous stretches of homozygosity (LCSHs), are performed using the Affymetrix Genome-Wide Human SNP Array 6.0, in collaboration with Coriell’s Genotyping and Microarray Center.
