Joseph L. Mintzer is executive vice president and chief operating officer at Coriell Institute where he guides administrative and financial operations. Recognized as an expert in research management and biobanking, Joe has been an invited speaker at several forums, including the European Science Foundation, The Marble Arch Working Group on International Biobanking, The University of Milan, and the Association of Independent Research Institutes.
Prior to joining Coriell, Joe held several healthcare delivery leadership roles, including director of the Mid Atlantic Region for AdvaCare Network Services, vice president of outpatient services at Delaware County Memorial Hospital, and vice president of clinical services at Hahnemann University Hospital.
After receiving his undergraduate degree from St. Joseph’s College, Joe earned his Master of Social Work with a specialization in non-profit management from Temple University; he also pursued post-graduate sociology studies at the University of Delaware.
Joe is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the Government Affairs Committee of the Association of Independent Research Institutes, on the Scientific Advisory Board at the Foundation for Blood Research, and is a member of the External Advisory Board of the Institute of Catholic Bioethics at St. Joseph’s University. Joe is also one of two community representatives on the Patient Care Committee of the Crozer-Keystone Health System.
