During its more than 60 years of operation, the Coriell Institute for Medical Research has sought to achieve the highest standards of performance and safety. All Coriell services are performed under strict quality systems and to the ISO 9001:2008 standard.
The ISO-9001 program is annually audited by an external agency, and re-certified every three years. The Institute has an Emergency Operations Plans, Exposure Control Policy, and Laboratory Safety Plan. Additionally, each department has its own quality control (QC) procedures, and the Institute has an independent quality assurance (QA) program. As an experienced manager of biobanks, Coriell has in-place systems for detecting and resolving any emerging problems associated with QC. A comprehensive QA/QC program is in place to regulate activities and provide early identification and resolutions.
