High-Throughput DNA and RNA Analysis

Coriell’s Genotyping and Microarray Center – one of the nation’s largest centers – is a high-throughput facility with systems from Affymetrix and Illumina, which enable rapid, reproducible, and accurate microarray analyses on a genome-wide scale. With twelve FS450 Affymetrix fluidics stations and three state-of-the-art GCS3000 scanners (equipped with autoloaders), in addition to an Illumina BeadXpress, the facility can process up to 2,000 DNA or RNA samples per month. Optional help with data interpretation – statistical and bioinformatics – is also available.

The center is CLIA-certified in 48 states for Affymetrix Genome-Wide Human SNP Array 6.0 and DMET Plus analyses. This federal certification recognizes the accuracy and reliability of this testing performed at Coriell. CLIA certification is not required for research laboratories; Coriell chose to pursue this certification so that results from the Coriell Personalized Medicine Collaborative^® research study could be returned to participants and physicians and potentially used as an additional tool in medical care.
