REQUIREMENTS

Adult Sponsor:
All projects must be done with supervision of a qualified adult sponsor identified on ISEF form 1. The adult sponsor could be a parent, teacher, or science or engineering professional. Sponsor qualifications must be approved by Coriell as appropriate for any potential hazards.

Rules:
All projects must adhere to the guidelines and regulations of the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). ISEF Rules 2009.

Pre-Approval:
All students projects which may potentially be registered for the fair must be have all required ISEF paperwork reviewed by Coriell's Scientific Review Committee prior to the student beginning the project unless proof (ISEF form IC) is provided that the project was pre-approved and done at a regulated research institute/industrial setting. This includes all projects in school or local feeder fairs whether or not they advance to Coriell. For pre-approval, complete all relevent ISEF forms and submit to G. Butler or W. Byar at the contact address above.

Final Approval:
All student projects to be presented at the Fair should be registered and final abstracts submitted three weeks (Feb. 20) before the Fair to allow for final review and approval based on changes to projects evident in the final abstract and completeness of ISEF paperwork. Individual requests for extension of submission of final abstracts will be considered on a case by case basis for projects not completed by Feb 20. The status of all projects submitted for pre-approval will be tracked in a database, and reports available to teachers.
